Judged A Cover
Well, I judged a book by it's cover recently, and I did not do to bad. I just finished Well Offed In Vermont by Amy Patricia Meade. You can probably tell why I chose the book. I do tend to want to read about the season that is going on outside my door. I do not like books about the cold in summer, nor the heat in winter. Back to the judging. When choosing this book, I did just look at it's cover and title. Books in set Vermont, good, pretty fall color, better!!
This was a light read and a little far fetched. Husband and wife move to Vermont. The day of their arrival they find a man in their well, dead by gunshot. Unable to move into their home, they set about finding the killer so they can settle in quickly. It was a cozy mystery with nice town characters. The main character, I did not connect with. She was written like she was a fashionista, but she work with preserving tapestries and needle work. I would have like a little bit more of a low maintenance woman. It was hard to believe that they could go around asking questions like they did. Police officers freely giving them information because everyone in Vermont know everyone's business. Oh well it was a good quick read and it kept my attention till the end. I cant say that for a lot of the books I have been reading lately.
