This is the house that I want to live in. |
Our 2012 Christmas Tree. On of the biggest we have had. |
I spent yesterday cleaning the living room. The dust was bad. I cleaned off all shelves, dusted and rearranged them. Started putting Christmas knick knacks away. Today I will tackle my snow man collection. I want to go to The Container Store (my idea of heaven) to grab some Christmas organizer boxes. I have one which makes the taking down so much easier.
I also spent much of the day and evening going month by month through Susan Branches blog. She is an artist living in Martha's Vineyard. Her blog is an inspiration. Once I figure out how to connect you to her site you will see. You must check it out. She keeps referring to her first book Heart of the Home. It seemed familiar so I checked my recipe books and there it was. Took it down, dusted it off and I will be making her cheese cake tonight for Ellie and I.
I want to live in this village! |
I am going to go to the store today and buy a new notebook. I love News Years Eve. On the brink of a new beginning. We can plan the changes we want to make and the person we would like to become. I have so many resolution every year and I try not to be discouraged if at the end of the year I have not changed.
I would like to go back and fall in love with the girl I was when I first got married. I miss that person.
Back then I loved everything Victorian. Victoria was my favorite book and I wanted a massive flower garden.
All I wanted to do when I was younger was to be at home and clean. I love cleaning my house, but the more people are in it the harder I find it. Which is why I want to be home when the kids are not. Does that sound bad. I love my kids and husband, but cleaning around people is very difficult. I tend to not clean when there are to many people. Which is all the time.
Our little village looks a little shabby this year. Many of the people are broken. The kids still love to play in it though. They each pick a house that is there and play village life. My favorite is the antique store. Liam begged all day yesterday to go to a thrift store or the White Elephant. I am not sure what he is looking for but the urge hit him yesterday. As it was Sunday nothing was open and today I will be at work. So we will have to wait until the weekend. I am also in the mood for a little shopping.
So what are people doing this evening. As I said I will be making cheese cake and also a smoked gouda cheese log. I found it yesterday in an old Victoria Magazine that I hadn't yet discovered on my shelves. Ellie and I love smoked gouda!
Love having someone around who likes the same things as me. I will also be picking up a little pink champagne. It is my new favorite spirit.
